I love the plot of this book and the characters are so different so its fun to watch them all develop less.

I think this is, perhaps, a problem of the pov because it was metchant to think a man who mostly spent his time chatting with a queen and barely remembers to threaten to kill people or destroy the world, is the great evil villain of the books. But keep in mind that once merhant read the 1st book you will want to read the other 9 books in the series. Still such a great series. Press then gets captured, and to be able to save him, Bobby asks Mark Dimond to bring some items to Denduron to rescue Press.

This was especially true of the ‘evil’ villain who mostly gave the impression that he spent his evenings on the sofa watching tv. Aug bobgy, Stephen rated it it was ok Shelves: He has an interesting place within the allegory, but the actual interactions with him are dull as hell.
I’m excited to reread the rest of the series. Is this an empowering portrayal? And before he can object, he is swept off to an alternate dimension known as Denduron, a territory inhabited by strange beings, ruled by a magical tyrant, and plagued by dangerous revolution. There is no such thing as “if”.
As his Uncle Press sets off for the territory of Cloral, Bobby goes with him to fulfill his duties as a Traveler. During this time, Bobby realizes that the Bedoowan live a luxurious and lazy life, as they listen to music, relax on pillows, and eat, attended by the pallid, taciturn Novans. For what it is, this is a pretty good example of sub-genre. The beginning book that hooked me on its fast paced, plot twisting, and at times adrenaline pumping series.
I have lots and lots of thoughts on this book, and I don’t feel like fleshing out a proper review, so here’s a pro and con list. Also, technologically speaking, the Bedoowan are years ahead of the Milago with inventions and devices including dumbwaiters, running water, and artificial light.
Bobby, Alder and Loor try to rescue Press from the Bedoowan castle, armed with a backpack full of tools brought from Bobby’s home, Second Earth, to make the job of rescuing Uncle Press easier, despite the warning Press gave Bobby that territories are not to be mixed through items or otherwise.
